I can’t stress enough how true this is.
In this fast-paced & competitive era, users have the ultimate freedom of choice. If the first glance does not make a positive impact on visceral and behavioural level, then chances are he’ll likely go to another similar site which does it better. Or he’ll lack the motivation to engage further to the site.
But having said that, good looks alone isn’t enough. There should be a proper visual & content hierarchy. One thing I recently found out is the importance of negative spacing & how powerful it is to drag the users attention to what matters the most. It gives out an impression that the site is solely curated & resonates with each of the end-users.
